Our Journey

A team brought together by a desire to use what we were privileged enough to learn, as a tool to assist others.

The Sister Assist (Pty) Ltd. journey started in April 2020, where Co-founders, Nicole Arendse and Kendyll Solomon shared an equal desire to simply help. After much deliberation and discussion, a consensus was met, with the decision being we would offer up our skills and knowledge in Human Resources as a tool. A simple post on Facebook urging anyone who needed assistance with their CVs or job searches to reach out started a conversation and a response we could not believe. Many shared their joy and encouragement with the venture we had embarked on. It was at this point we knew we were onto something special.

One month in, Director Kirsty Brand joined the team and created a system and the efficiency we needed to take Sister Assist to the next level. We continued on our journey, extending our services to include interview guidance and tailored workshops, while increasing our social media presence.

In less than a year, we assisted over 100 individuals, with services ranging from CV revamps, job searches, as well as two workshops hosted for matriculants and university students. We also became a registered business; a decision we hope will give us the opportunity to build and expand our network.

Our goal is and always will remain, to use our skills to assist others in the best way we can.

Vision

To equip, empower, educate and upskill individuals, enabling them to contribute successfully to the working world and as a result, contribute to a decrease in unemployment rates in South Africa.

Mission

Our mission is to uplift and inspire individuals to stand out and be truly confident in the ever-changing working world; and we aim to do this through various forms of education relating to entering and existing successfully within the working world. Our goal is to equip individuals with the knowledge needed to be confident in their ability, and to be able to effectively display their confidence and skills with others along the way. We aspire to always coach from a place of genuine love and passion for seeing others succeed, particularly in the marginalised, disadvantaged and young communities around us. We carry the saying, “we rise by lifting others” wherever we go, as we believe that pouring into others eventually creates an endless river of opportunity for all.
